Preposition: in, on, at-এর লড়াই - গল্পে পড়ি

এই পাঠের তথ্য উৎস মিলিয়ে লেখা ও প্রথমবার যাচাই করা হয়েছে; কয়েক দিন পর দ্বিতীয়বার যাচাই চলছে। কোথাও ভুল চোখে পড়লে নিচের “ভুল জানান” বাক্সে লিখুন।

Preposition ছোট্ট শব্দ: in, on, at, of, with। কিন্তু BCS-এর ইংরেজিতে সবচেয়ে বেশি নম্বর কাটে এখানেই। কারণ বাংলায় সব জায়গায় একটাই “-এ” বসে (সকালে, সোমবারে, ঢাকায়), আর ইংরেজিতে বসে তিন রকম।

সময়ের in, on, at

Preposition	কখন	উদাহরণ
at	ঘড়ির নির্দিষ্ট সময়	at 5 pm, at noon, at night
on	দিন ও তারিখ	on Monday, on 16 December
in	মাস, বছর, ঋতু, দিনের অংশ	in July, in 1971, in winter, in the morning

কৌশল: ছোট থেকে বড়: at (একটা বিন্দু, ঘড়ির কাঁটা) → on (একটা দিন) → in (বড় সময়)। জায়গাতেও তাই: at the gate → on the road → in Dhaka।

between বনাম among

দুজনের মধ্যে between: Divide the mango between the two brothers. দুইয়ের বেশির মধ্যে among: Divide the sweets among the children.

নির্দিষ্ট শব্দের সাথে নির্দিষ্ট preposition

পরীক্ষার ফাঁদ

“superior than” লেখা। -ior শব্দের পরে to: superior to।
“prefer tea than coffee” লেখা। prefer … to।
“on 1971” লেখা। বছরের আগে in।
“angry on him” লেখা। মানুষের সাথে angry with।
“between the three friends” লেখা। দুইয়ের বেশি হলে among।
